These Sad Poems For My Departed Friend are deeply dedicated to my late best friend in school. Though he lived a short life but in all it was a rewarding life.
Like the day I passed through his land of birth and there the inspiration just flows. I had to write this down for him. The day began on 29th June 2006 and all through to 4th September 2007 before I finished dropping this piece of a sad memory poem.
So personal a thought for me to relate here from the trance. Live on my main man. You will always be in our hearts. Rest on Uforo! Sad Poems About Death
Rest In Etim Ekpo
I passed your land and I wept,
For out of these dusts you are gone.
Etim Ekpo oh Etim Ekpo,
The land whose handsome son is gone;
Who has done thee this evil?
Main man, where are you?
I wept without consolation,
Who will take this tear away?
Death, how could you,
Take the joy of a mother;
Death, how could you,
Take the only man I could relate with?
Etim Ekpo cry,
For death has done her worst;
But I am consoled,
For out of him that lives on;
A star is born to wipe your tears.

Live On
Never will I say RIP,
Live on!
For the songs you wrote;
Shall ever be sung,
On the altar of grace.
How do I say goodbye,
When within my heart;
You live on,
For the songs you wrote;
Shall ever be sung,
On the altar of grace.
Brother of a different parent,
Friend beyond comprehension;
Dreams we dreamt,
Plans we made;
Future we foresaw,
But what happened to them?
I shall forever ask this question,
For life has taught me a lesson in you;
Silent tears feel my heart with pain,
Live on!
For the memories of you;
Shall ever be a guiding light to my path.

It Is Well
Tears you roll,
For a thought of you;
Weakened my heart with tears.
Down below the dark earth,
There you lie all alone;
Gone with that infectious smile,
That is irreplaceable.
Miserable my heart shall remain,
For it roamed my imagination;
Like a wanderer with no destination,
Weeping and crying, wishing and asking;
How did it happen? Where are you?
Wish I could breathe life,
For the memories of you;
Are like a priceless treasure.

Like I heard the sad news and came around to see your Mom. It is well was the word that came out of my mouth, and then I saw the sad grief on her face. Heard it was the same words you kept saying during those moments of pain. 17th May 2007, I couldn’t hold it back. I was still reminiscing about you and these lines just came forth.
